- Ibu Foundation funded $8,000 for new standard and electric sewing machines
- Ibu foundation funded $3,000 for two instructors in one year
- Ibu foundation funded $4,000 for lunches for program participants over one year.
Kiwimbi’s mission is to partner with underserved communities to create educational opportunities through libraries and community centers. They have a variety of vocational training programs including art, carpentry, and tailoring, teaching practical in-demand job skills in a workshop-based setting.
The tailoring program, while open to members of both sexes (currently one male is enrolled in the program), has been especially effective in enabling the women to financially support themselves and their families.
