On the Road to Santa Fe

Each July, 150 fine artisans dressed in garments of their homeland process into the Santa Fe rail yard like the world coming to one table. For the next four days, these select artists will set out the finest work of their hands under white tents; visitors from all over the country will stream into town to purchase a piece of the magic. Pashto tunes will rock the opening. Tastes will lead you wandering around the globe. The Santa Fe International Folk Art Market, it's often said, is not just a Market . . . it's a Miracle.
After making my way to those tents over the past fifteen years, getting to know the talented artisans, the incandescent Executive Director, Stacey Edgar, some of the 1500 volunteers, and applauding the mission each year in Ibulliance missives, you let it be known you'd like to go, too. No kidding, you do.
I'm thrilled to announce our first collaborative venture with IFAM, hosting Ibu allies in Santa Fe for an Ibu Fringe Road Adventure. It's been a joy to plan days introducing you to the wonder of the Market, visiting the homes of friends, artists, shop-keepers, gallerists; touring with experts through jewel museum collections, Georgia O'Keefe's iconic home, and, optionally, Santa Fe traditions like the open-air opera. Five brimming full days.
I look forward to welcoming a special group to a place I hold dear this summer. Come join me on the road to Santa Fe!
All the Best,
Susan Hull Walker
