Chic Fusion
Chic Fusion is a social enterprise founded in 2010 by Razaan Jakoet, who designs every product and trains women at her studio to do the felting. It now employs eleven women, many from the Eastern Cape and often the sole breadwinners for their families.
Ibu's 2022 grant funded rainwater tanks (vital for water-hungry felting and dyeing after regional droughts), wet felting equipment, and workspace improvements. It also helped them add staff and raise wages, so the artisans can afford better housing and save to visit family.
