SWDC weavers practice traditional silk weaving, spinning silk by hand and dyeing it using natural, everyday-inspired color names passed down through founder Chantha Nguon's own teaching method.
What began as an incentive to keep women in literacy classes has grown into skilled, dignified work — earning weavers more than double the wage of a primary school teacher.
