Roots of South Sudan

The Roots Project employs more than 80 women from nearly twenty tribal groups, each creating beaded jewelry, baskets, and gourd bowls in colors and patterns specific to their tribe's tradition.

An artisan works by hand on a small craft piece.

Every piece is painstakingly hand-beaded, carrying forward distinct tribal artistry while giving artisans the income to support their families.
