Mothers In Action (MIA) was founded in 2007 with 12 mothers, and now employs more than 250 women from communities across the Peruvian Andes. The women knit from home while looking after their children. The artisans are highly skilled thanks to MIA’s training workshops and high production standards. MIA’s mission is to craft beautifully-designed knitwear, while increasing the number of mothers able to work from home to provide a better standard of living for their entire family. MIA has received a grant from the Ibu Foundation to build a new atelier where the women can gather for trainings and social knitting sessions.
Stylist Tip: A knitted sweater that pairs perfectly, as is, over jeans, pants, or a skirt! This would pair nicely over all complementary colors for a bit of warmth and fuzzy texture.
