Heirloom Leather and Cowrie Shell Amulet
19th – early 20th century Southern Morocco. These fabulous amulets are tribal representations of the hamsa (the protective hand). The three shells are set in the leather that likely has a prayer folded within it. It is so beautifully worn from the years and years of devotion, prayer and hope. The necklace is finished with our hand woven cord, simply.
